FRESNO, TX - A special groundbreaking ceremony was held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, for the newest Fort Bend County Emergency Services District No. 7 (FBCESD7) fire station.

The ceremony featured remarks from Fort Bend County ESD Commissioners, Fire Chief Anthony Bates, Fort Bend County Commissioner Vincent Morales, Fort Bend County EMS Chief Bryan Petrilla, and Fort Bend County MUD 23 Director Steven Gates. Multiple MUD and HOA representatives, local officials, and community members were also present.

“This is the first Fire Station built to serve our response area since the mid-1950s. The Fire Department has come a long way over the years to better serve the citizens”, Fire Chief Anthony Bates said. “This new station will be able to accommodate up to seven firefighters and two Fort Bend County EMS paramedics twenty-four hours a day.“

The single-story station will consist of three apparatus bays, nine individual dorms, living quarters, and a training room for fire personnel and Fort Bend County EMS personnel.

The 12,700-square-foot fire station will be located at 1834 W. Sycamore Rd in Fresno. The site is a 2.25-acre area located at the intersection of W. Sycamore Rd. and Teal Bend Blvd.

The site will also serve as an administration building for the district. The project is expected to be near completion in July 2023.
